As it turns out, I have another blog post in me for this year.  Another final one, before the year 2022 is finished, and before I leave you all, my lovely readers, to your own devices, and to perhaps catch up on my many a blog posts that you may have missed over the last 4 years.  Oh my, I have just had to check, and I have been writing my regular, monthly blog posts since 2019.  Whilst we are getting sentimental, please indulge me.  I have been writing my blog posts since 2014, which means that 8 years … Continue reading

One of my lovely friends calls my work “missioni”. To start with, i took no notice. Then she said it again when i was showing off some crochet project or another. So then, consequently, i looked. As it turns out, she is not wrong… See HERE, MISSONI is an Italian fashion brand. And even more consequently, HE has already looked into it as a reference to HIS work. So you know, we can see the parallels deepen between my crochet and his glass. As is mentioned in previous blog posts HERE, THERE and EVERYWHERE. She said to me earlier … Continue reading

Initially, today is about knitting.  More in detail: Knitted dishcloths tradition passed on from one family to another. Obviously, I love creativity. Creativity is my passion! If you are a first time reader – it is true. If you know this about me already as a consequence of being a fan of my blog: Thank You! For coming back and sticking with me, reading my meanderings about my creative endeavours. Always, Thank You for being patient when i repeat myself… In fact, today i would like to talk about knitting squares. Yes. Knitting indeed! Not crochet. Knitting! If you … Continue reading

To see the proper development and to trace the actual story of these blankets, and if you really truly feel like reading a few more blog posts… Read first HERE in Phenomenological Pondering, then HERE in Utilitarian Utopia. When I sold the first blanket, i had great interest and people ordered more. Two more. Maybe three. I cannot remember this fact exactly, as it was over a year ago that that happened. Sometimes it is difficult to remember yesterday…. Full disclosure: I am writing this post last minute (well a week before it is out – which is super … Continue reading

In the beginning there was yarn… Let me elaborate on that: In the beginning (of any one of my crochet endeavours) there is yarn. Yarn that consequently leads to colours. Colours that furthermore lead to ideas. Ideas that eventually lead to finished crochet creations. As above, today’s post started with a gift. In particular, Christmas Holidays 2019. You know, before we knew about disease control measures we have all had to find out about and integrate into our lives since… That Christmas, we visited my family. It is true, my mum have always been an avid knitter. A creative … Continue reading

Firstly, for this month, for March, i decided to share a different part of my process with you. Maybe you will find it helpful. Maybe you will not.. In any case, whatever the consequence of reading this post, organisation is something that is important to me. I am organized. There: i said it. I am also incredibly messy and lazy some of the other time. Organising your craft space and all your related resources… I have recently acquired some specifically purchased items to make my life easier as a maker/ crafter… In general, i like systems. I like efficiency … Continue reading

February is the shortest month. Yet in our family it is full of celebratory events. Birthdays, anniversaries, you name it, it happens in our family to some member or other, closest or a bit further apart, we have a lot on in February. This post is about a celebratory blanket for a different event. One that happens only once, usually. Earlier in the year, i was super busy feasting my eyes on rainbow yarn, i got a lovely lot of wool from my sister. There was a lot of red and white and some turquoisey coloured yarn. I was … Continue reading

Today, for the new year, i am presenting my oldest video work EVER! And whyever not… Happy New Year everyone! Hopefully you have made it through 2021 with whatever you needed most. Something happened early last year, and as the consequence of that, this appeared to me: I have not ever uploaded the video compilations from my Visual Art Degree show anywhere at all online! I know, it happened a very very VERY looooong time ago, but still…. Onto my YouTube channel they consequently went as the result of this realisation! Check my Youtube channel HERE! Case of video … Continue reading

The small crochet projects for in between Initially, i was actually considering writing this blog post as a review of the last year. As per usual end of year writing, i was going to compare both the years 2020 and 2021: highs and lows, things learnt, things made, that kind of thing. This here post is, indeed, my last post of 2021, after all… I wanted to make it punchy! But, instead of a review of 2021, i decided to dedicate the last month of the year to the small, seemingly insignificant crochet projects in between: soap holders, shopping … Continue reading

Brioche knitted hats. Or: The story of my personal unravelling. No, it is definitely not as dramatic as t/hat. When i am learning new stitches, i definitely am a lot less confident with knitting. When it comes to knitting, as well as in crochet, i am usually happy to leave errors in, without undoing them. Even happier sometimes to leave them than to undo them. However, the error in this case was too great, and the potential repair in situ too impossible to complete, so the whole thing – half a hat – came undone. But, before i continue … Continue reading
