Events that The Creative Hook is participating in.
As we all know, end of the year is nearing. This usually means a lot of reflection on my creative year, as well as work year, and all other things that were there for the year. So how about, then, the year 2022?! With this in mind, it is a good place to reflect here, and validate, and explain, and share experiences. Start with the most colourful: For those of you who have been following, this will be no surprise. I do have an announcement to make here, which again, for my @instagram followers is no news now, but it is nice to give this a proper space, and a send off! I…
How crochet travels! Crochet in the woods. This month's post is a continuation of my Crochet on the beach story, which you can read in gloriously full detail HERE: https://thecreativehook.com/yours-yarnly After i took the above blankets to the beach, i wanted to see them in the woods. By the time i organized this trip/ art installation, there was 10 blankets made by me in existence, and with a limited space in the car, i decided to take four (4) which have not been made when YOURS…
yesterday’s yearnings – yearly yonder The weather in the UK has not been following last year's anomalous hotness... Am i surprised? Not really. But, when i started thinking about this post a little while ago, it was looking promising, with few days here and there bringing us temperatures warranting light jackets, if any outerwear at all... Whether you are sitting outside after a barbeque of an evening, in your garden, or gathered by a campfire,…

Suppose I should listen to the things I say to others- listen to my own advice sometimes… I have managed a to submit two pieces of work into the exhibition currently (May 2018) at Arts for Recovery in the Community (Arc) in Reddish, where I have been part of the volunteer team few years back, which made me somewhat reflective. My memory crochet blanket (LOOK) is displayed so that the tactile quality comes across really well and apparently visitors have been enjoying moving it around, unfolding and folding again to reveal/ discover different…
Hello All..... So this is something exciting.... I have had a conversation with a fellow art enthusiast a little while ago, about organizing some crochet workshops in connection to the cycle phases and representation of these in some crochet pieces... We are both quite excited about getting this going, but, i thought i would get the feel from you, as no workshop is possible without lovely juicy participants.... I have been looking into the cycle phases and the changes that these bring within us for about two or maybe even three years now, as i struggle with the Creative Phase in my own life - and you can see some of my creative…
